This policy explains how HappyDale ("we," "us") handles information on internalconflictgame.com, the pre-release website for the game Internal Conflict. It covers this website only. The game will ship with its own privacy policy before release.

1. What we collect

• Pre-registration email. If you pre-register, we store the email address you submit (encrypted at rest), along with the referring page, any campaign tags in the link you used, and a timestamp of your consent, so we can tell you about the beta and launch. That is the only thing the address is used for, and you can unsubscribe or ask for deletion at any time. Emails we send you (such as the pre-registration confirmation) contain a small tracking image that tells us only whether the email was opened, and links in them carry campaign tags; unsubscribing or asking for deletion stops this too.
• Anonymous visit signal. The site sends us the page path, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, and which parts of a page were reached (for example scrolling to the end, finishing the map, or clicking pre-register). This signal uses no cookies, builds no profile, and we do not keep your IP address with it.
• Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept cookies on the consent banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic. If you decline or make no choice, it never loads and no analytics cookies are set.
• Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and request data) to run and secure the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

2. How we use it

To operate and secure the site, to send beta and launch updates you asked for, to measure aggregate interest in the game, and to respond if you contact us.

3. Sharing

We share information only with service providers who run the site for us (hosting, email delivery, and, with your consent, Google Analytics), and with legal recipients where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

4. Retention

Pre-registration emails are kept until the launch mailing list is retired or you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. Consent-based analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months. Hosting logs rotate on our provider's standard short schedule.

5. Your rights (GDPR, plain language)

If you are in the EU, UK, or a place with similar laws, you can ask us at any time to:

• See the personal data we hold about you (access);
• Fix it if it is wrong (rectification);
• Delete it (erasure);
• Pause how we use it (restriction);
• Take it with you in a portable format (portability);
• Object to our use of it (objection).

We do not make automated decisions about you. To exercise any right, email admin@happydale.net. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

6. California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals. California residents may request access, deletion, or correction at the email above, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

7. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted an email, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes appear on this page with a new "last updated" date.
